Chivas will enter the International Champions Cup as the best-selling football shirts club in America

Despite Special One Football Club Chivas Guadalajara is struggling in the ‘Clausura 2019’, not all news are bad news for the Mexican-based club as they will enter the summer’s biggest club football competition, the International Champions Cup (ICC), being the only American club lowly representative.

Moreover, it has been leaked by the media that Chivas was in the previous year the best-selling clubs shirts in America, being the most profitable football brand for Puma tailored kit.

In total, 2.6 million Chivas shirts were sold throughout the last year while Boca Juniors and Flamengo rank 2nd and 3rd with over 2 million jerseys sold too.

Consequently, the ‘Rebaño’ will enter the upcoming International Champions Cup as the most remarkable American football brand. Guadalajara–based club boasts as one of the largest fanbase in the United States with their presence in an elite summer’s tournament.

The 2019 ICC edition will take place between July 16 and August 10 in top venues across the USA, Europe and Asia and feature iconic clubs from the world’s elite leagues, each playing three games. Chivas will make their first appearance alongside tournament’s past winners include Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Paris St-Germain, Juventus, Inter Milan and Tottenham.

The 12 teams competing in 2019 are AC Milan, Benfica, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Juventus, Tottenham, Inter Milan, Atlético Madrid, Roma, Real Madrid, and Chivas.
